How to out smart the Irish weather!

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

So like today, we're never far from a shower or two in Ireland but you don't have to compromise on style to keep dry..

Therefore what is the one item of clothing every Irish man and woman must and should have in their wardrobe? A raincoat, of course, and this raincoat is definitely one that I am a huge fan of.

I have owned so many pretty horrendous versions that didn’t even actually prevent me from getting wet! I know right, a rain jacket that isn’t even rain proof!

So when I saw this rain coat by Ilse Jacobsen, I knew it would be the perfect yet stylish coat for me. I was first attracted to the gorgeous coral colour, along with its feminine silhouette. I’m very much an outdoor person, owning two golden retrievers walking is a huge part of my life, so staying warm, dry and fashionable is very important to me!

I picked up my Ilse Jacobson raincoat in a gorgeous new boutique in Naas last week, called ‘Lips & P’s’ (here) they stock a wide range of the coats along with Ilse Jacobson rubber boots, which I must say are very cool!

Ilse Jacobson is a Danish lifestyle designer who hails from a small seaside town Hornbaek. Living beside the sea, she saw a niche in the market for stylish yet comfortable and functional rainwear. From opening her first shop in her hometown over twenty years ago, she has seen her brand grow and her products are stocked in around 2,000 shops around the world from Stockholm to Tokyo and from Moscow to New York. So as you can see it’s not just me who is a fan of the brand!

These jackets are not a cheap plastic type raincoat, they are superbly manufactured to the highest quality and guaranteed to be fully waterproof. I do admit I was a little taken back by the price tag but I had already decided I wanted it, before I saw the price €220. Being Irish with our very unpredictable weather I knew this would be one of my perfect investment pieces!
