Birthday Bash

Hey there,

I am not much of a planner but I knew I wanted to do something with both my family and friends to celebrate this big birthday!!

So instead of dragging my family around all the pubs and clubs in Dublin, I decided I would do something small, separately with a few of my close friends.

So on Saturday last, my friends and I decided we would get our hair and makeup done before our party night. Might I just add, I absolutely loved my hair and makeup my hair was by Peter Mark and make-up by Inglot Blanchardstown. This all happened before heading back to my sisters' place for some nibbles, cupcakes and prosecco!

Once we popped on our dresses and added some finishing touches were ready and we proceeded into the city centre to the Vintage cocktail club. I absolutely love the vintage cocktail club as a venue. I especially love the fabulous vintage style décor and of course their amazing array of delicious cocktails. Some of my friends had never been there before and they were very impressed with it. However after a few cocktails and catch up’s we moved onto Zozimus, 37 and then to finish the night off ended up at Lillie Bordello’s.

For my outfit of the night I wanted something a little different, I had been on the lookout for a while and when I tried on this powder blue Self Portrait dress in Brown Thomas, I knew straight away that it was the one for me!

I wasn’t so keen on the price tag so I left it back and deliberated over purchasing it for some time before saying to myself... ‘Go on you only turn 30 once!!’

I teamed the dress with silver heels as seen before from Missguided and some gorgeous silver jewellery from Newbridge. I kept accessories to a minimum as I felt there was already a lot going on in this dress with all the intricate lace trims.

I just love how the bodice featured a plunging back for flirtatious, flesh-baring appeal, while the peplum addition creates a romantic silhouette and I am so excited to wear this pretty dress again and again. I usually find myself reaching towards pink tones but blue will definitely be a colour I will try to wear much more of now.

I hope you liked my dress as much as I did!

Must dash, as the Regan (the pup) is becoming quite impatient, he’s ready for his walk!

Hugs x
